July is the Month of the Precious Blood

July is the month of the Precious Blood. For the majority of Catholics, July 1st is no longer the Feast of the Precious Blood; rather we celebrate the Body and Blood of Christ earlier in the year. However, for those communities with a special devotion to the Blood of Christ, we are able to continue celebrating July 1st as our feast day!

Here are a few ways you can honor the Precious Blood of Jesus during the month of July!

The chaplet has a special set of beads, since there are 33 prayers, fewer than the traditional rosary. But you can pray the chaplet without the beads if you wish.

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood provide a wonderful pamphlet on how to prayer the chaplet. You can find it here.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a beautiful opportunity to not only reconcile with God, but to grow closer to others as we release any guilt or shame that prevents our relationships from attaining holiness.

Use masstimes.org or check at your local parish to find a time to go to reconciliation!

So, we may be a little biased on this one, but there are a variety of religious communities that honor the Precious Blood. We work closely with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, but there are other communities that praise and honor the Blood of Christ!

Finally, there are SO MANY other prayers that can help us grow closer to Jesus through His Most Precious Blood. There are chaplets, prayers through Mary, novenas and more. Explore some of the prayer options and find one that draws you closer to our redeeming God!

Here are some places to start:

We'd love to see and hear how you celebrate! Post some of your favorite prayers or Precious Blood on social media with the #PreciousBlood!
